(Possible) SPOILER SECTION – No spoilers for this review – I might come back to it in the future, or possibly start writing some discussion posts on the books and characters of the series. This classic-style fantasy isn’t normally my sort of thing these days, but these books are written so well, it’s hard not to love them. The Dragon Rebornconsists of a prologue and 56 chapters. The unabridged audio book is read by Michael Kramerand Kate Reading. It was published by Tor Booksand released on September 15, 1991. The Dragon Reborn was an amazing book and I’m so glad I got into The Wheel of Time series. The Dragon Rebornis a fantasynovel by American writer Robert Jordan, the third in his series The Wheel of Time. There is a little political intrigue, a bit of a love story, and some character development I’ve been waiting for over three books! (I can’t be less general than that without giving away spoilers). Compare to The Eye of the World ,for example, The Dragon Reborn is very fast-paced. It is far more focused on the plot rather than endless depictions of the world (even though those themselves are incredible). This story itself was just must faster paced than the first two in the series. Perrin’s character is developing but I hope to see more development in the next book because I’m just waiting for him to embrace his ‘wolfness’ – he has done it a few times and those scenes were awesome, but his inner conflict, while being necessary and making him more two-dimensional, drags his story a little. Mat’s character developed a lot in this book, and I love him! – Mat’s attitude and gambling addiction is just a great mix for entertainment in this fantasy book.
I was glad to see very little of Rand and more of Perrin, Mat, and everyone else in The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan as they are far more interesting. My Rating: 5/5 SPOILER FREE By far the best book of the series so far
